March Update

Hello friends,

This first month of SonderNest has been both incredibly exciting and, honestly, a little overwhelming in the best possible way.

When we launched the diaper bank, I knew there was a need in our community. What I did not expect was just how many families would reach out right away asking for help. Seeing those requests come in made it clear that this support truly matters.

At the same time, the encouragement, kindness, and generosity from our community has been just as powerful. Every message, share, and donation has helped move this forward.

SonderNest exists because we believe families should not have to navigate difficult seasons alone. Whether someone is receiving support, donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, we are building something together that strengthens our community.

A sincere thank you,

Skyler

What We've Accomplished So Far

In February, we purchased our very first pallet of diapers. That shipment included 10,000 diapers in sizes 1, 3, and 5, along with wipes.

In just the first month, more than 3,000 diapers were distributed to families in need.

We also added our first distribution partner, A Safe Place Family Justice Center. They provide diapers directly to their clients who are navigating difficult and often unsafe situations. While they do not distribute diapers to the public, this partnership helps ensure families in crisis can access essential supplies when they need them most.

Coming Soon at SonderNest

Behind the scenes, we are continuing to grow.

Later this month, we plan to purchase our second pallet of diapers, which will include sizes 2, 4, and 6 to better support the needs families are requesting.

We are also working toward launching regular distribution events in Oregon City and Canby, making it easier for families to access support consistently.

In addition, SonderNest is developing educational workshops and support groups for parents & caregivers, designed to provide practical guidance, connection, and encouragement for families navigating early childhood and parenting challenges. We are hoping to begin these programs later this spring.

Community Support Spotlight

We are incredibly grateful to the Walmart Supercenter in Sherwood for awarding SonderNest a $750 Spark Good Community Grant.

This support helps us continue building the diaper bank and ensures more families in Clackamas County have access to essential supplies when they need them most.

Local partnerships like this make a real difference in what we are able to provide for families in our community.

Help Us Fund Our Next Diaper Pallet

The need in our community has been clear from the very beginning. With more families reaching out for support, we are preparing to purchase our second pallet of diapers later this month.

Each pallet contains around 10,000 diapers, allowing us to continue providing essential supplies to families experiencing financial hardship.

If you would like to help make this possible, you can support SonderNest by making a donation.

Every contribution helps ensure that families in our community have access to the basic supplies their children need.

Diapering Tip: Preventing Diaper Rash

Diaper rash is very common, but a few small habits can help prevent it.

Change diapers frequently so moisture does not sit on the skin for long periods of time. After cleaning the diaper area, allow the skin to dry completely before putting on a fresh diaper. Even a few seconds of air drying can help.

A thin layer of barrier cream or ointment can also protect sensitive skin and reduce irritation.

If a rash becomes severe, spreads, or does not improve after a few days, it may be helpful to check in with your pediatrician.
